📋 Overview

Mechanic Mate ("we", "our", or "the app") — operated by Mohit Bhalodiya (under the trade name Mfinity Infotech) — is a garage management application designed for small and medium automotive workshops in India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. It applies to both the Mechanic Mate mobile application and our website at mechanicmate.in.

📦 Information We Collect

1. Account & Garage Information

• Mobile phone number (used for OTP-based login only)
• Garage name, owner name, address, and GSTIN (optional)
• Garage logo image (if you upload one)

2. Business Data You Enter

• Customer names, phone numbers, and vehicle details (registration number, make, model, type)
• Job cards, work items, and service notes
• Invoices, GST details, and payment records
• Income and expense entries

3. Automatically Collected Data

• Crash reports and error logs (to fix bugs)
• Anonymous app usage events (screens visited, features used)
• Device type and Android version (for compatibility)

We do not collect precise location, contacts, SMS messages, call logs, or any data unrelated to garage management.

⚙️ How We Use Your Information

🔒 Data Storage & Security

All your data is stored securely on Google Firebase servers (Firestore, Firebase Storage) located in data centres that comply with industry-standard security practices.

• Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
• Each garage owner's data is strictly isolated — you can only access your own data.
• Firebase App Check is enabled to prevent unauthorised API access.
• The app supports local offline caching (Firestore persistence) so you can work without internet; data syncs when connectivity is restored.

While we use industry best practices, no system is 100% secure. Please keep your phone and OTP confidential.

🔗 Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

We do not use advertising networks or data brokers. The only analytics services we use are Firebase Analytics (in the app) and Google Analytics 4 (on our website). Both anonymise your IP address.

🌐 Website Analytics & Cookies

This section applies only to our website (mechanicmate.in), not the mobile app.

We use Google Analytics 4 ("GA4"), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. GA4 collects:

• Pages you visit and time spent on each
• Approximate location at city / state level (your IP address is anonymised)
• Device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
• Referring website or search query
• Anonymous interaction events such as button clicks and scroll depth

We have enabled IP anonymisation in GA4 — your full IP address is never stored. We do not link analytics data to your name, phone number, or email. We do not sell or share this data with anyone other than Google, who processes it on our behalf in line with Google's Privacy Policy.

GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies. To opt out you can:

• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
• Disable cookies in your browser settings
• Use private / incognito browsing mode

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes.

We may disclose data only in the following limited circumstances:

• When required by applicable Indian law or a valid court order
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public
• To our service providers (Firebase/Google) solely to operate the app — they are contractually bound not to use your data for other purposes

🗑️ Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the app:

Settings → More → Delete Account

Deleting your account permanently removes all your garage data, customers, job cards, invoices, and payments from our servers. This action is irreversible.

Anonymised crash reports may be retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes even after account deletion.

👶 Children's Privacy

Mechanic Mate is intended for use by adults operating automotive workshops. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has provided us personal data, please contact us immediately.

✅ Your Rights

As a user you have the right to:

• Access — view all your data within the app at any time
• Correction — edit any incorrect information directly in the app
• Deletion — delete your account and all associated data via app settings
• Portability — export your invoices as PDF documents via the share feature

For requests that cannot be completed within the app, contact us at the email below and we will respond within 30 days.

📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
